About

Shawna is passionate about helping others. She shares her world with her two children, Elle and Ziggy, and her adventurous husband, Eric. A former special education teacher, Shawna is a certified yoga teacher (200 RYT), Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, trained in Yin Yoga, trained in Yoga for the Special Child (Level 1) and trained in Trauma Informed Yoga. Shawna founded Maypole Art Center on the West Side of Chicago as an accessible oasis for Art, Wellness, Breathwork and Movement.

She has traveled extensively and is particularly focused on sharing wellness across diverse cultures and backgrounds. Shawna helps people tune in to the relationship between their breath and their body. She helps guide her clients to slow down and be present and feel safe to do so.

Shawna's goal is to help people connect with their inner joy and light and come back home to themselves. Life can get us moving so fast and create so many distractions that we need the power of our breath.
